In her book "A natural History of the Senses", poet Diane Ackerman wrote, "Because the eye loves novelty and can get used to almost any scene.... much of life can drift into the vague background of our attention.... Art has a habit of waking us up, turning on the lights, grabbing us by the collar and saying… Would you please pay attention?"

 

In our photography we strive to "turn on the lights".
