Most underwater photographs are taken with the subject in its natural habitat. Sometimes the habitat is like a bowel of mixed salad with the subject well camouflaged among myriad of other marine life. Other times the animals stand out like the proverbial sore thumb. But in either case, their surroundings can be confusing and distracting.
So, in order to focus full attention on the subjects, the habitat has been minimized or excluded from these photographs, either by using special lighting techniques to isolate the subject within its habitat or by taking the subject out of it's habitat [and returned after photographing them] to show how exquisite and wonderfull these creatures are.
The photos taken in their habitats were by Glenn. The others were taken in a studio aquarium and were a joint effort by both Glenn & Judy
